Installing Putty
Run the Installer:
- Locate the downloaded MSI file in your Downloads folder.
- Double-click the file to start the installation process.

Use the Terminal:
- Once authenticated, you can use the terminal to execute commands on the remote server.
Key-Based Authentication:
- For enhanced security, you can use SSH key-based authentication instead of passwords.
- Generate a key pair using PuTTYgen (included with PuTTY) and configure your server to accept the public key.
Logging:
- PuTTY can log your session output. Configure this under the "Logging" category in the PuTTY Configuration window.
Session Customization:
- Customize your sessions with different appearance settings, behavior, and keyboard options available in the configuration categories.
Troubleshooting
Connection Refused:
- Ensure that the server is up and running and that the SSH service is active.
- Verify that the hostname/IP address and port number are correct.
Authentication Failed:
- Double-check your username and password.
- If using key-based authentication, ensure that your private key is correctly configured in PuTTY.
Network Issues:
- Ensure that your firewall or network settings are not blocking the connection.
